The Glorious Holy Shit Makes it to Cuyamaca Peak!

Tim Alls asked me if I am doing the last 0.6 miles of the hike to the second highest point of the whole San Diego County. The four of us: Denise, Ernest, Tim and myself were eating our lunch by the bench overlooking Palomar Mountain and most of Anza Borrego Wilderness. 
I told Tim I would even if I have to crawl to the top. 

It was my second attempt to get to the the peak . The first time, I busted Kelly's hike because of my indecision to turn around when I could. I was a party popper. Because of the incident, I avoided Kelly's hikes and avoided Marikit's organized hikes. I felt like a weakling every time Marikit asks me how I am doing or if I was okay. I am always reminded how Kay at a hike to Mount Laguna told Bill Bunker that he was not her baby sitter. Kay now is into the hardcore level who keeps who has been putting more and more miles and elevation gain in her hiking portfolio. 

Getting to the county's second highest point was more of a personal triumph. It must have been only during these moments that I praise The Lord and mean it.

NY to NJ on foot

George Washington Bridge. Bronx. Cabrini Boulevard. Washington Heights. 175th Street, Manhattan, NYC. Interstate 95 or I-95, the main interstate highway of the east coast. New York State Route Highway 9A. US Route 9. US Route 1. Fort Lee, New Jersey. Palisades Interstate Park, New Jersey. Tenshi's coming out

Tenshi comes out. Beyond gay terms, Tenshi takes the place of Holy Shi Tzu, the happy monkey tree sack buddha from the cordilleras of my homeland who has gone ahead, like lost or left behind on the trails. Tenshi means messenger from heaven in Japanese. The icon is a representation of the monks who are called "tenshin" at the Yokoji Zen Mountain Center near Idyllwild.  In Zen  Buddhism terms, Tenshi comes out in search of the bull. "In the pasture of this world, I endlessly push aside the tall grasses in search of the bull. Following unnamed rivers, lost upon the interpenetrating path of distant mountains, my strengths failing me and my vitality exhausted, I cannot find the bull. I only hear the locusts chirping through the forests at night."
