Picking Grapes at Cordiano Winery

In spite of the Tragic Turin story that would forever hunt my family, I still looked forward to revisiting Italy. Francesco Cordiano's invitation to pick grapes at his family winery made me forget of Tragic Turin as I joined about a  dozen or  more who came to pick grapes at a San Pascual Valley vineyard in Escondido. Dave, the meetup organizer for the event probably copied the letter of invitation on the meetup event post.
Greetings everyone! I hope you've all had a wonderful summer, full of health and happiness. Mother Nature has given given us an early to the harvest season this year, and the warm temperatures we've had have ripened the Cabernet Franc and Petit Sirah to perfection!

So we will begin the first phase of our grape harvest this Saturday, August 31 at 7 am. Everyone is invited to join us, and we expect to finish picking by 11 am. We'll provide clippers, buckets and water bottles until supples run out. You might want to bring g the following: gloves, sunscreen, clippers if you have them, additional hydration and of course, a love of vino. In the near future, you'll be able to enjoy a glass of wine that you helped produce! Thank you in advance and hope to see you there. Saluti, Francesco Cordiano
The older Francesco Cordiano learned winemaking from the best Italian wine makers in Sicily, Italy as a boy. Sicily is known to be among the largest wine producer in Italy.  Cordiano Winery, a family owned and operated winery taking pride in  producing the best wines the way they are  made in the old country, which I am sure is Sicily, Italy. In the sprawling highlands of San Pascual Valley, the Cordianos seem to introduce Sicily Italy as the place where the best Italian wines are grown and produced with passion. Primo Amore, which means first love in Italian, is a wine produced and marketed by the Cordianos embodying the lifelong passion of wine making brought to the valley all the way from Sicily, Ialy.
The younger Francesco Cordiano who is also known as Frank must have been the one who sent the invitation to the meetup group.  Young daughter Sofia who was at first playing in the vineyards while the community picked grapes. Community. Culture. Helping. I think of my sociological experiment on helping and think how interesting it is to be in the area picking grapes with people, most of them I have never met. The tour to the wine processing area with al the giant containers and barrels makes me think of the spirits.
